Just don’t let the haters whiskey-shame you for your personal preferences. Or vice versa–go ahead and make a cocktail with that $500 bottle if you damn well please. If you prefer drinking Jim Beam out of a red plastic cup with a healthy pour of Coke, that’s cool too. If you like to sip Pappy Van Winkle from a Baccarat crystal tasting glass, that’s just fine. Other than that, there is no wrong or right, despite what blowhards and bourboomers online might tell you. How you feel about bourbon is entirely subjective, although there are a few objective truths: it must be made from a mash bill containing at least 51 percent corn, aged in new charred oak containers (not barrels, even though virtually all bourbon is aged in them), distilled in the U.S., and meet certain proof requirements, which you can Google if you are interested. Some of this is actually helpful in understanding what's out there, while a lot winds up being useless bourbon bloviating.īourbon, and all whiskey really, is subject to passionate obsession as much as anything else that people have strong feelings about-music, food, cars, movies, etc. And we come to bars and liquor stores armed with a ridiculous amount of knowledge about the truth behind the stories distilleries weave. ![]() We spend exorbitant amounts on rare releases, then make fun of people for doing the very same. We tell people they are wrong for liking certain brands or drinking it a particular way. We argue incessantly about it on Twitter and Reddit. These days, we take bourbon way too seriously. Besides being on a handful of medications- time, love and consistency seem to be what has helped speed up the process. Long story short- she is able to walk and go back to being semi-normal. No injury had occured, blood work, urinalysis and every lab test came back normal. Being left absolutely clueless as to what caused her to start limping and walking strange in the first place. ![]() My dog Marley has been on a journey of trying to get back to her normal mobility. He eats them every morning like it is the best treat. and the thing that happened in between was Wuffes. but I know how Dudley suffered before and I see him doing so much better. He has a smile again and sometimes he even goes over to his toy box and picks a toy and throws it up in the air and bounces a little to catch it. He goes potty all by himself and I don't have to hold him up while he goes. I still put his lifting vest on most days, because he has trouble getting up on a slick floor, but the change is almost too good to believe. It is now end of May and Dudley is back walking on his own. Dudley weights 79 lbs so I give him 4 a day. I bought Wuffes joint meds and started them sometime in March. Walking on his own was almost non existent. Vet says he is healthy from Head to Toe, with the exception of his hips. He needed constant help with walking and getting up. He could hardly stand to eat from his food bowl. His ability to squat was gone and walking was more of a swaying motion than straight line walk. I bought a "lifting" vest to take him outside and that progressed into a wheelchair to support his back legs and allow him to go out for potty breaks. He is a poop walker, not a poop squatter. In March 2022, his walking declined drastically. Old age and arthritis made it hard to walk. He had been on anti-inflammatory and pain meds for the past year for hip problems. I am not confident that it is not the combination, and for that reason I will be buying both from here on out because whatever life they have left I want to be as pain free as possible if I can afford it. I also have a family to feed and this made a difference and was within a reasonable price to at least try. I truly hope this helps someone because I love my dogs, they are part of my family and I don't want them to suffer. I wanted to make sure I included the other information only because I read all most recent reviews instead of most popular. Less sleeping, less struggling, and I would recommend. Only one got the tumeric the first day and now both are on both and are getting around quite a bit better. By the next day there was a remarkable change in both dogs. The next night the tumeric arrived and I began with one pill in addition. I got the wuffles one day prior and thought they seemed less tired. I was desperate because of the worsening of both with the new additions and warm weather and bought the wuffles (3rd different supplement tried, other 2 from amazon top rated also) and a tumeric dog chew bought from amazon. Our 12 year old corgi mix has had bilateral back meniscus and acl tears since she was 6, and doesn't like other dogs but does play with the puppy a little because she is small and afraid of her. He has been tired and lacking energy and has had some liver issues, now being monitored by vet and this was a major change. He was snappy and had a problem standing from a sit. I was puppy sitting my daughters dogs and normally my 11 year old lab loves their year old. Overall, the chews are kind of expensive but do have quality ingredients to set you up for a good support of soft tissue and joint health! I haven't noticed any obvious changes in her mobility yet as she is already fairly active, but she's only been on the chews for a short while. My shepherd was willing to eat these, with minor reluctance, and I haven't noticed any upset stomach or obvious itching indicating it is flaring up her allergies, which is a huge plus for her. There are 60 chews in each bottle, so with normal daily 3 chews a day, each bottle lasts my dog about 20 days. Just normal use of 3 chews a day is still 2 bottles a month, totalling about 80$ after tax. At 38.25 for a single bottle, that gets expensive very quickly. I was kind of shocked to see that they recommend a double dose of the chews for the first 3 weeks of use (which would be a total of 6 chews daily for my dog). This supplement has all the ingredients it should to make an effective joint supplement. My German shepherd has been diagnosed with hip dysplasia since she was two years old (she's going to be 7 this year), but finding a supplement that she is willing to eat and also doesn't flare up her allergies of animal protein has been near impossible. Opinion remains divided over Freud’s forthright, unflattering but expressive likeness of the ageing monarch. Freud asked to paint the Queen, she agreed, and he then donated the work to the Royal Collection Trust.Ĭontrary to his usual practice of summoning sitters to his Holland Park studio, Freud travelled to St James’s Palace and the Queen sat for him over a six-month period, between May and December 2001. Installation: PA Images/Alamy Stock Photo Lucian Freud's expressive close-up, 2001įreud’s 2001 portrait of the Queen is one of his smallest paintings, measuring approximately nine and a half by six inches, but it packs a powerful punch with the entire composition filled by the Queen’s face and topped off by the glittering 1820 Diamond Diadem that Freud specifically requested she wear. High on drama, low on psychology, Annigoni’s three-quarter-length image of a Queen firmly at the nation’s helm was a big hit with the British public, attracting ten-deep crowds when it was shown at the Royal Academy, in London, in 1955. Gazing out into the distance, the dashing monarch is set against a stylised landscape that owes more to Quattrocento Tuscany than 1950s Britain. Swathed in the robes of the Order of the Garter, Elizabeth comes across as aloof and regal but she is also a moody heroine straight out of the Daphne du Maurier novels that were especially popular at that time. They communicate as much about the changing status of the monarchy and individual artistic aims as they do about what went on behind the façade of an obdurately impregnable monarch. Out of all of the stands I’ve used, it’s the one that looks and feels most like a tripod thanks to its micro ball-head, which lets you adjust the angle of your phone nearly 360 degrees, and its three legs, which provide much more support and functionality than your standard phone-case kickstand. It attaches to the back of the latest iPhone and delivers a generous lift off the surface it’s sitting on. This iPhone accessory is a 0.3-inch thick plate made of anodized aluminum with strong magnets inside and three legs that fold down and out. There are plenty of ways to prop up your iPhone, but Peak Design’s mobile tripod is one of the more elegant solutions I’ve tried. Anker Powerline II USB-C to Lightning cable And when you buy the charging station, you’ll also get Anker’s 20W USB-C charger and a connecting cable, so you have everything you need to use it immediately after unboxing. Plus, there’s a light ring on the bottom that glows every time you magnetically snap your phone into place. We like this stand for its clever design, but also because it’s weighted and has a non-slip bottom it’s not going anywhere once you pick a spot for it. And when you do that, you free up the second wireless charging pad sitting underneath it, where you can power your AirPods at the same time. The cylindrical gadget is slightly smaller than a soda can, and its top can flip upward up to 60 degrees to let you charge your phone at an angle that makes the screen easier to see. AirPodsĪpple’s MagSafe technology makes it much easier to go all-in on wireless charging, and Anker’s 623 MagGo 2-in-1 charging station is a great pick to keep by your bedside or on your desk. Mophie has a 3-in-1 wireless charging station that takes up less space and has dedicated spots for your iPhone, Apple Watch and AirPods. It’ll fit on most nightstands, but you may have to rearrange things first. But while the mat’s size allows it to do a lot at once, it’s also tough to find a big enough spot for it. It’s worth noting that both my iPhone and my AirPods Pro live in cases, and I didn’t have to remove either in order to charge them with Mophie’s mat. I found the mat useful as a charging hub, turning to it each night to charge my iPhone, Apple Watch and AirPods Pro. It also has an optional attachment for an Apple Watch, which means it could actually charge up to five devices at the same time. Two of those spots are large enough to accommodate smartphones while the other two in the center are smaller and fit things like AirPods perfectly. It’s an 11-by-8-inch rectangle with four spaces for different items to charge simultaneously. You may have accumulated a number of devices that support wireless charging at this point and Mophie’s 4-in-1 charging mat is an easy way to power them all. It’s magnets are nowhere near as strong as those on the Apple MagSafe charger - so you definitely shouldn’t pick up your iPhone by this cable - but it’ll power up your handset and stay put while doing so. I only wish the cable were longer than three feet so that you had more leeway to use your iPhone on the couch or in bed while powering it up.Īpple’s MagSafe charger accessory comes in at $39 (although we’ve seen it go on sale a few times), but if you want to spend a bit less, Spigen’s $25 ArcField magnetic wireless charger is a decent dupe. The magnets only attach to the latest iPhones, but it will still charge older models wirelessly, going back to the iPhone 8. The charging plate itself is about a quarter-inch thick so it barely adds any heft to the iPhone. Not only can you safely pick up your handset and use it with the disk still attached, but the iPhone can dangle by the charger’s cord without falling off. Like all other MagSafe accessories, this charging pad uses magnets to attach to the back of the latest iPhones and it’s surprisingly strong. There are often better and cheaper alternatives to Apple’s first-party accessories, but the company’s MagSafe wireless charger is worth considering if you have a new iPhone. ![]() (Download) How to Make the Most of German TV Series This blog post is available as a convenient and portable PDF that youĬlick here to get a copy. “Die Sendung mit der Maus” (The Program with the Mouse).“ttt: Titel, Thesen, Temperamente” (Titles, Theses, Temperaments).“Verstehen Sie Spaß?” (Do You Understand Fun?).“Schwiegertochter gesucht” (Daughter-in-law Wanted).“Unsere Mütter, Unsere Väter” (Our Mothers, Our Fathers).“In aller Freundschaft” (In all Friendliness).“Gute Zeiten, Schlechte Zeiten” (Good Times, Bad Times).“Der Tatortreiniger” (Crime Scene Cleaner).“Verliebt in Berlin” (In Love in/with Berlin).“Block B unter Arrest” (Block B Under Arrest).“Mord mit Aussicht” (Murder with a View).“Im Angesicht des Verbrechens” (In the Face of the Crime).“Kommissar Rex” (Rex: A Cop’s Best Friend).“Alpha 0.7 – Der Feind in dir” (Alpha 0.7 – The Enemy Within You).“Raumpatrouille Orion” (Space Patrol Orion). How to Make the Most of German TV Series. So here’s a list of some awesome German TV series, with details on where to watch them and how to utilize shows within your studies. This difference will become clear as you read more about the differences between Gmail and Apple Mail.Īs you might suspect, Apple Mail and Gmail have a lot in common, including: Both Gmail and Apple Mail work the way you would expect a modern email client to work. You can draft, send, and receive messages, and manage your inbox with all the basic functions you’ve grown to know, including marking emails as read or unread, organizing them, and deleting them. You can access Apple Mail on any Apple device, and you can access Gmail on desktop or any mobile device. While you’ll have to go out of your way to download a Gmail app on an iPhone, it’s certainly available. Composing a message is a similar experience across both platforms. Regardless of whether you’re using Gmail or Apple Mail, you’ll be able to customize your message with different fonts, different formatting (like bold and italics), and various attachments. That said, attachments are a bit more complicated to include on certain devices, like iPhones. ![]() Both email services allow you to conveniently manage, organize, and call upon your bank of contacts. Start typing any name, and you’ll get a suggestion for the email address you need. Winner: Tie Gmail vs Apple Mail: Appearance and Usability However, the email platforms diverge from here. ![]() Let’s start by taking a look at the appearance and usability of Gmail vs Apple Mail. Because there are so many different versions of each app, we’ll make broad observations and specifically compare the mobile apps of each service.īoth Gmail and Apple Mail are very intuitive. You’ll mostly use the same gestures and techniques to manage your accounts for example, you’ll be able to swipe left to delete an email from your inbox. If you look at an iteration of the Gmail mobile app and the Apple Mail mobile app and remove all branding, you might have trouble telling the difference between the two. However, Apple Mail has a few advantages and disadvantages in the realm of usability. With 3D touch in Apple Mail, you’ll be able to call up a preview of a given email.įor example, Apple has introduced the concept of “3D touch,” which allows you to press down hard on an iPhone screen. This is a feature that the Gmail app can’t equally match. That said, Apple Mail also has some limitations for example, it’s much less intuitive to include an attachment on the iPhone app. Without an attachment button, you’ll need to click and hold on the body content of an open email to include something like an image. It’s also worth noting the power of Apple Mail notifications. With the Gmail mobile app, you’ll get notifications according to your settings (usually an alert whenever you get a new message), and you can turn on notifications for your Google Chrome browser as well. Apple Mail offers something similar, with a key advantage you’ll be able to set different notifications for your different email accounts.įor example, you can set alerts for your work email, while keeping your personal email silent (or vice versa). |
